Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD (2015)

With the first version of AutoCAD in 1983, all drawings and drawings created in AutoCAD could be emailed or exported to a central file server, where they could be viewed or stored by the CAD operator. This was a major improvement in efficiency and it continues to improve. AutoCAD also includes a feature called “collaboration” in which multiple users can simultaneously work on a drawing file, on any computer network or local area network (LAN).

AutoCAD Drawing Ready for Email (2009)

Today, AutoCAD is the most widely used commercial CAD package. It is a major product in Autodesk’s Core and Design group, with an installed base of more than 10 million users and new users at the rate of 4 million per year. AutoCAD, like other commercial CAD packages, includes a visual and step-by-step user interface, document browsing and file management tools, parametric modeling, and the ability to calculate.

AutoCAD is available for Macintosh, Windows, and Linux platforms, and as a mobile app for iPhone and Android. AutoCAD is priced from free to more than $20,000 per year, depending on the version and number of computers used in the design environment.

The three editions of AutoCAD are AutoCAD LT (a one-user, free desktop application), AutoCAD 2010 (a free desktop application and subscription-based mobile app), and AutoCAD LT 2019 (a desktop application and subscription-based mobile app). AutoCAD LT is the latest and least expensive edition, which allows users to design and create 2D drawings up to a maximum of 2 GB in size. AutoCAD 2010 and LT 2019 allow users to create up to a maximum of 4 GB in size. AutoCAD LT 2009 users have the option of upgrading to AutoCAD 2010.

You can also install the AutoCAD mobile app for iPhone or Android for free and use it on any iOS or Android device. This allows you to design and create 2D drawings up to 1 GB in size.

In addition to the products offered in the AutoCAD portfolio, Autodesk also offers the 3D Revit family of products, which include Autodesk Revit Architecture and Autodesk Revit Structure for architectural and structural design, Autodesk Revit MEP for MEP and HVAC design, and Autodesk Revit Building Information Modeling

AutoCAD 19.1

DeepCAD was a discontinued object-oriented CAD application that ran on Windows and Linux. It was a direct replacement for AutoCAD LT.

DeepCAD 2019 DeepCAD 2019 is a continuation of the original product and now is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. It has many of the features of AutoCAD LT. It is the standard CAD software for the automotive industry.

How to properly handle events on a form when you do not know if the form is the main form of the application

I would like to execute a function when the form that contains the button that is being clicked is clicked, and when it is not, execute another function.
So far I have a main form and a sub form. On the main form, I have a button that opens the sub form, and in the sub form I have another button.
What is the proper way of handling events for this?

Proper way in.NET is to use events as described here:
Basically, you will have something like this (pseudo-code):
if form instanceof MyMainForm{
// do something

and in main form:
public delegate void HandleSomethingDelegate();

public event HandleSomethingDelegate HandleSomethingEvent;

// when user clicks on some button:
private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
if (HandleSomethingEvent!= null)

// in constructor of subform:
private void SubForm_Loaded(object

Councils will get an extra £3bn to provide extra funding for roads and other projects as part of government plans to help prepare for Brexit.

Chancellor Philip Hammond said the money would come from a new pot of money created by HM Treasury.

The cash, which will also go towards building schools, has been given a seven-year life.

It will also see councils get more money to build roads to improve schools and local transport.

HM Treasury’s spending review also outlined plans for more money to help those living in the most deprived areas.

But the document said further spending on health would be lower than planned by the Conservatives in 2015.

The cash boost will help build, improve and repair school buildings and provide safer learning spaces, Mr Hammond said.

It will also see more council staff trained and professional development provided to support improvements, he added.

He said: “Our commitment to education and our determination to help children of all ages get the best start in life has never been stronger.”

The Department for Education (DfE) and local authorities will work together to plan for the changes and support schools, councils and other partners.

The government had committed to spending an extra £5.4bn on school buildings by the end of March 2019, but the plans have not yet been delivered.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan welcomed the extra cash, saying it would allow schools to continue to provide the same high-quality teaching and learning.

He said: “My priority will be working with schools, children, parents, teachers and local authorities to make sure that this money is used well.”

Public health

The spending review set out plans for an extra £3.5bn a year to support health services, NHS England and local areas.

Mr Hammond said: “Through the NHS, we will make sure the NHS has the money it needs to provide the care the people of our country deserve.”

The cash boost comes after NHS England and health bodies published plans to tackle health inequalities.

The Government has said it will provide extra money to make sure those in the most deprived areas get the same NHS services
